This 4-day Rwanda gorilla and golden monkey trekking safari takes you to Volcanoes National Park, well known for gorilla trekking in Rwanda. Drive through the unwinding hills in rural areas into the home of endangered mountain gorillas and golden monkeys. Your safari begins outside of Kigali in the village of Musanze. This park is home to a variety of primate species that you may encounter while trekking. You will also be able to encounter a number of bird species and other wildlife. This is a once-in-a-lifetime safari.

Begin your day with a delicious buffer breakfast before heading to Kigali's genocide memorial ground, where over 250 000 victims of the 1994 genocide were buried in mass graves in remembrance of their souls. There are short video clips to watch as you walk around and see some of the remains before they are transferred to Musanze, near Volcanoes National Park, for dinner and an overnight stay. An early morning cup of coffee, then prepare for the gorilla trekking briefing from the park headquarters, and thereafter, you will enter the jungle with your packed lunch to search for the shy mountain gorillas and enjoy their lifestyle in their real home. After meeting the gorillas, you can sit around these great apes for a whole hour, watching their social life as you take pictures. On a gorilla safari, a reasonable degree of fitness is required, as are walking shoes, packed food and mineral water, insect repellent, sun screen, and a hut. The gorilla tracking experience takes half a day or a whole day, depending on the movements of these primates. After this gorilla tracking experience, you will return to your lodge for lunch. Today, after your warm early morning breakfast, you will be picked up by our safari driver guide, who will transfer you to the park headquarters for a briefing with your packed lunch and start off your day of golden monkey trekking in search of these shy primates in the jungle. Just like the gorilla trekking experience, the same applies to golden monkey trekking, though it is not as hectic as gorilla trekking. You will later return to the lodge for lunch and later transfer to Kigali to your lodge or to the airport to catch up with your evening flight to your home country.
